Fishing Stage and Boat - Tilting

Fishing boat images in Newfoundland have become cliche. Every Tom, Dick and Harry with a camera takes pictures of boats. I, too, am afflicted with this malady and cannot resist photographing a boat moored peacefully near a fishing stage on calm reflective water. The Newfoundland fishing boat is as much a cultural icon as the grain elevator of Saskatchewan.

How could one walk away from a scene like that without taking 400 shots of it from every angle...I would love to see that.

I just recently visited Tilting with my University group to study the culture and heritage of Newfoundland fishing villages. These pictures are beautiful, but they do not do justice for the real beauty of the landscape. I will be returning there in the future with my family.
